Clean and Care For Your Natural Stone Countertop

Sealant

First make sure your countertop has been sealed. If you’re unsure contact your contractor or countertop fabricator.

Most importantly clean up spills as soon as they happen.

How to Clean a Granite Countertop

Materials Needed

Warm water
Gentle dish soap
Dish cloth
Clean towel

  1. Soak up any visible liquids on the counter with a paper towel or dish cloth. If you’ve spilled wine or other stain-able liquid, gently soak up the liquid with a paper towel and discard.
  2. Get your dish cloth wet with warm, soapy water. Rinse warm water and soap together with your dish cloth thoroughly.
  3. Wipe down the countertops. Using your wet dish cloth gently wipe down the granite surface until all visible liquids or crumbs are removed.
  4. Dry with a clean towel. Dry with a soft cloth towel to avoid streaking.
